Na beira do Rio do Peixe num lugar bem retirado
Um casal de lavrador com um ano de casado
Tinha um filhinho de colo que nem era batizado
Apesar de muito pobre vivia bem sossegado
E quando o dia raiava a canoa ele pegava
O rio ele atravessava pra cuidar do seu roçado
Certo dia o marido muito bem intencionado
Precisando terminar um serviço atrasado
Levou a mulher pra roça com matula e virado
Pensando em voltar mais cedo eles haviam deixado
Naquele ranchinho ausente um garotinho inocente
Que sonhava sorridente no seu berço mal forrado
Uma grande tromba d'água desabou daquele lado
O rio encheu de repente que ficou tudo alagado
O mais alto dos barrancos também ficou transbordado
Quiseram voltar pra casa canoa tinha rodado
Que destino traiçoeiro do pobre casal roceiro
Olhando aquele aguaceiro gritando desesperado
Um cachorro policial esperto e bem ensinado
Dormindo embaixo da cama por sorte havia ficado
Quando viu que aquele rancho ia ser tudo inundado
Tentou salvar o menino pra não morrer afogado
Entrelaçou no seus dentes o garotinho inocente
E num gesto de valente atravessou o rio a nado
O pobre casal chorava em pranto desesperado
A morte do seu filhinho que as águas tinham levado
Quando viram o cachorro completamente molhado
Arrastando o garotinho que ele havia salvado
Pela força do destino o cão salvou o menino
Este milagre divino foi por Deus determinado
