There in Tilcara

Almafuerte

Grata experiencia,
al compartir su solitaria resistencia.
Pueda este canto que cantando estoy,
sumarle alivio a sus pesares.
O contentar a quien guste de saber,
que jamás te olvidaré.
Me despedí, de madrugada,
de quienes a cambio de nada me asistieron.
Y fuí feliz, grata experiencia,
al compartir su solitaria resistencia.
Pueda este canto que cantando estoy,
sumarle alivio a sus pesares.
O contentar a quien guste de saber,
que jamás lo olvidaré.

There in Tilcara

I woke up there in Tilcara,
with the friends of the indigenous people.
The destiny wanted to take me there.
Along with those who share my path.
Maybe engraved in the stone walls,
my voice,
has remained as a memory.
As it has been engraved in my being,
their kind treatment.
I spent the night there in Tilcara,
with the friends I have among the indigenous people.
And I was happy. A pleasant experience,
sharing their solitary resistance.
May this song that I am singing,
add relief to their sorrows.
Or satisfy those who like to know,
that I will never forget you.
I said goodbye, at dawn,
to those who helped me without expecting anything in return.
And I was happy, a pleasant experience,
sharing their solitary resistance.
May this song that I am singing,
add relief to their sorrows.
Or satisfy those who like to know,
that I will never forget it.
