Poema é a noite escura de amargura
Poema é a luz que brilha lá no céu
Poema é ter saudade de alguém
Que a gente quer e que não vem
Poema é o cantar de um passarinho
Que vive ao léu, perdeu seu ninho
É a esperança de me encontrar
Poema é a solidão da madrugada
É o ébrio triste na calçada
Querendo a lua namorar.

Poem is the singing of a little bird
That lives freely, lost its nest
It's the hope to meet me
Poem is the loneliness of dawn
It's the sad drunk on the sidewalk
Wanting to court the moon.
