En la Tirana bailando están
y a la Virgen van a rezar,
como remedio pa' todo mal,
el pobre piensa que va a sanar.
Todos los meses el caporal
antes de julio viene a enseñar
máscara y capa, lanza y puñal,
cómo a la Virgen hay que adorar.
De Antofagasta, desde La Paz,
esa diablada viene a pagar,
cuentas de otros, de los demás,
de los que nunca vendrán a bailar.
El indio pide agua y maíz
para la chicha del mes de abril
y si se enferma le va a pedir
que el cura venga a rezarle al morir.
Todos los años vuelve a bajar
de sus montañas para bailar,
Virgen del Carmen, qué carnaval,
pero su estrella no habrá de cambiar

In La Tirana they are dancing
