Suffering
Wherever there is disease
I am sure to follow
As tempting as it is
To shorten my wait
By causing death myself
I'll not risk
Further chastisement
Having my eyes ripped out
Was inconvenient enough
Sad really. The fight for life
Struggling to overcome sickness
Just to embrace
Poverty and filth
But still I wait
Next to the writhing
The gasping
Waiting to guide their spirits
For eluding death
For one more day
Is hardly a victory
But a slow and drawn out suffering
