No te voy a complacer
ese deseo de que cuelgue mis espuela
ni la silla que viajo
junto conmigo por mangas de venezuela
al lomo de mi caballo
de mi caballo en tardes de coleadera (bis)
Porque naci llanero
y me crie coleando
lo que uno aprende del llano
nunca se olvida
desde niño te enseño
a que arriesgara la vida
tambien a colear los toros
colear los toros agarrado de la silla
Que cuando deje de colear
por que los años me obliguen a que le seda
pues con otros coleador
te lo prometo que estare en la talanquera
como todos los que han dado
amor su vida por que el deporte no muera
Deben saber que mi orgullo
es ser llanero y que colear
no es un deporte cualquiera
es el deporte genuino de
nuestra tierra llanera
es patrimonio que el llano
junto a sus hijos le brindan a venezuela
When I Stop Bullfighting
I'm not going to indulge you
that desire for my spur to hang
nor the chair I travel
along with me through the sleeves of Venezuela
on the back of my horse
of my horse in afternoons of bullfighting (repeat)
Because I was born a plainsman
and I grew up bullfighting
what one learns from the plains
is never forgotten
since I was a child it taught you
to risk your life
also to bullfight the bulls
