Underdog
I am so weak and i'm so tired
It's hard for me to
Find enough strength to feed the fires
That fuel my ego
And consequently all my pride
Has all but died
Which leaves me
Down on my knees
Back to the place i should've started from
Been beat up
Been broken down
Nowhere but up
When you're faced down
On the ground
I'm in last place
If i place at all
But there's hope for this underdog!

I'm in this race to win a prize
The odds against me
The world has plans for my demise
What they don't see is
That the winner is not judge by his small size
But by the substitute he picks to
Run the race and mine's already won
Underdog.
I wince everytime I say the word.
Especially in connection with Jesus.
Yet as I read the birth stories about Jesus.
I can not help but conclude that although the world may be tilted toward the rich and powerful.
God, hallelujah in His mercy, is still on the side of the Underdog!
El desvalido

Encontrar suficiente fuerza para alimentar las llamas
Que alimentan mi ego
Y en consecuencia todo mi orgullo
Ha muerto casi por completo

De vuelta al lugar del que debería haber empezado

Solo queda subir
Cuando estás boca abajo

Estoy en último lugar
Si es que llego a algún lugar
¡Pero hay esperanza para este desvalido!

Estoy en esta carrera para ganar un premio
Las probabilidades en mi contra
El mundo tiene planes para mi desaparición
Lo que no ven es
Que el ganador no es juzgado por su pequeño tamaño
Sino por el sustituto que elige
Para correr la carrera y el mío ya ha ganado
Desvalido.
Me estremezco cada vez que digo la palabra.
Especialmente en conexión con Jesús.
Sin embargo, al leer las historias de nacimiento sobre Jesús.
No puedo evitar concluir que aunque el mundo pueda estar inclinado hacia los ricos y poderosos.
Dios, aleluya en Su misericordia, ¡todavía está del lado del desvalido!
