She's only 17 her whole life's ahead of her
She hates school because the people they discredit her
Her boyfriend tries to show her that's not how it seems
But everyday she just gets lowered by her self-esteem
He lets her know that every night will have a brighter day
She even tried to overdose and take her life away
She's feeling hopeless there sitting down beside her bed
Then he takes his hand and places it beside her head
He tries to hold her close but with every touch she still resists
Then he sees the scars that bury deep within her wrists
She's feeling numb, he starts to beg and plead and ask her why
She says this way I have control of the pain she feels inside
He's asking her how long it's been since you've felt this way
Because you got me, and I'm feeling so damn helpless
She says it's been a while I guess I needed better luck
Then he screams at her and tells her baby never cut!

Even cracked a couple smiles as she walked the corridor

The front door was open, he heard the water running
He stormed into the bathroom and his heart just started gunning

He put her arm around his shoulder he's just trynna lean her back up
Yelling out her name as he lays her beside the bathtub
He feels his whole world just got hit from an avalanche
Screaming out so heavily, somebody call an ambulance
Felling mad angry like somebody led her on to this
Her eyeballs are rolling, drifting out of consciousness

Paramedics rush her in, the doctor calls emergency
She's lost a lot of blood the place looking like a murder scene
An hour later, the doc walks in with a sour face
And says excuse me for the words that I'm about to say
I'm sorry for your loss, the boy just starts collapsing
His own world, his own girl just took a crashing
Saying to himself that it's his fault and that he let it up

Schat, Snijd Niet
Ze is pas 17, haar hele leven ligt nog voor haar
Ze haat school omdat de mensen haar niet serieus nemen
Haar vriend probeert haar te laten zien dat het niet is wat het lijkt
Maar elke dag zakt haar zelfvertrouwen verder weg
Hij laat haar weten dat elke nacht weer een betere dag brengt
Ze heeft zelfs geprobeerd te overdoseren en haar leven te beëindigen
Ze voelt zich hopeloos, daar zittend naast haar bed
Dan legt hij zijn hand naast haar hoofd
Hij probeert haar dicht bij zich te houden, maar met elke aanraking blijft ze zich verzetten
Dan ziet hij de littekens die diep in haar polsen verborgen zijn
Ze voelt zich verdoofd, hij begint te smeken en vragen waarom
Ze zegt: 'Op deze manier heb ik controle over de pijn van binnen'
Hij vraagt haar hoe lang ze zich al zo voelt
Want je hebt mij, en ik voel me zo verdomd hulpeloos
Ze zegt: 'Het is al een tijdje, ik denk dat ik beter geluk nodig had'
Dan schreeuwt hij naar haar en zegt: 'Schat, snijd nooit!'
Niemand lijkt je te begrijpen, je voelt je alleen
Maar luister mooie dame, je hoeft niet alleen te zijn

Zelfs een paar glimlachen terwijl ze door de gang loopt

En elke student in de kamer leek te wijzen en te lachen
Ze kon het niet meer aan, ze stuurde haar vriend een sms

Bij de dood, hij wist niet dat ze het letterlijk zo bedoelde
Ze ontweek de volgende les en rende recht de badkamer in
Dacht bij zichzelf dat ze haar belofte niet zo snel zou breken

Het bloed begon gewoon te druppelen van de badkuip naar de vloer
Haar vriend had een gevoel in zijn maag dat hij haatte
Volgde het en rende naar haar huis, hij wachtte nooit
De voordeur stond open, hij hoorde het water lopen
Hij stormde de badkamer binnen en zijn hart begon te racen
Niemand lijkt je te begrijpen, je voelt je alleen

Haar ogen draaien, ze verliest het bewustzijn
Denkt bij zichzelf: 'Waarom stopte ze niet gewoon vrijwillig?'
De tranen blijven rollen terwijl ze naar het ziekenhuis gaan
De paramedici rushen haar binnen, de dokter roept spoed
Ze heeft veel bloed verloren, de plek lijkt op een moordscène
Een uur later komt de dokter binnen met een zuur gezicht
En zegt: 'Excuseer me voor de woorden die ik ga zeggen'
'Het spijt me voor je verlies', de jongen begint in te storten
Zijn eigen wereld, zijn eigen meisje is neergestort
Zegt tegen zichzelf dat het zijn schuld is en dat hij het heeft laten gebeuren
