We Don't Have To Share
Debbie got the radio. I got the airplane.
She got the bicycle. I got the electric train.
I got the doll house. She got the cowboy hat.
I got the baseball glove. She got the baseball bat.
We don't have to share at all, to our delight.
We always get our own stuff, so we don't start a fight.
Debbie got the roller skates. I got the go-cart,
And even though she can't skate and I can't get the cart to start,
We always get out own things and they are ours to keep,
And even though I want her things too, I have my own at least.
But when Grandma went shopping, she bought us both a bear,
And since it cost so very much, she told us both to share.
So Deb and I both grabbed it and before we both knew
She was pulling and I was tugging and it tore in two.
Debbie got the leg and nose, also the bottom jaw,
I got the stuffing, one glass eye and a paw.
I also got the other leg, and Debbie an ear,
The foot and the other eye. What will Grandma bring next year?
We don't have to share at all, to our delight.

Debbie tiene la radio. Yo tengo el avión.
Ella tiene la bicicleta. Yo tengo el tren eléctrico.
Yo tengo la casa de muñecas. Ella tiene el sombrero de vaquero.

No tenemos que compartir en absoluto, para nuestra alegría.

Debbie tiene los patines. Yo tengo el kart,
Y aunque ella no puede patinar y yo no puedo hacer que el kart arranque,
Siempre obtenemos nuestras propias cosas y son nuestras para quedarnos,
Y aunque también quiero sus cosas, al menos tengo las mías.
Pero cuando la abuela fue de compras, nos compró a ambos un oso,
Y como costó mucho, nos dijo que lo compartiéramos.
Así que Deb y yo lo agarramos y antes de que ambos supiéramos
Ella tiraba y yo jalaba y se rompió en dos.
Debbie obtuvo la pierna y la nariz, también la mandíbula inferior,
Yo obtuve el relleno, un ojo de vidrio y una pata.
También obtuve la otra pierna, y Debbie una oreja,
El pie y el otro ojo. ¿Qué traerá la abuela el próximo año?
