Materialism
And selfish ambition
Is a foolish religion
The riches of God's mercy
Is worth more than your superstition
Tell me how does a christian begin
To develop discernment and wisdom

How most of the time
Your self-interpreting seems to coincide

Seems rather convenient, doesn't it?
I'm not saying that God can't do it
Not saying that God won't do it
That might very well be the case!
I'm simply making an observation of how much weight you place on it
What seems to be at stake and how much of your faith is actually banking on it
And how much of your mysticism is mixed with your religious philosophic system
Sometimes what we believe to be true from our supernatural pursuits is actually a fluke
A series of events that's used to distract you from the truth
But, I'll give you a sign that's obvious
One of the most supernatural acts is that God through his word has actually revealed everything pertaining to life in godliness
There's this idea that an individual
Is somehow more spiritual
If he sees these signs and symbols
And takes what's normally invisible
And makes it simple
But I say the mark of a mature man
Is the one who reads God's word and understands
And allows that to govern his decisions and his prospective plans
I like it when the wind shifts
They say it's the movement of the spirit
Still small voice, ya'll hear it?
Remember that time I saw that leaf fall
I was positive it was God's call
Wait for it, listen close

Still, his presence feels like chills
Right, and if I'm honest it doesn't happen often

Just a normal everyday working of life
Where things that suck royally
Is evidence of his royalty
Scratch your temple
So deep it's simple

Der Reichtum von Gottes Barmherzigkeit
Ist mehr wert als dein Aberglaube
Sag mir, wie beginnt ein Christ
Zu entwickeln Unterscheidungsvermögen und Weisheit
Zuerst unterwerfen wir jedes Symbol und Zeichen

Ich mache einfach eine Beobachtung darüber, wie viel Gewicht du darauf legst
Was auf dem Spiel steht und wie viel deines Glaubens tatsächlich darauf setzt
Und wie viel von deinem Mystizismus mit deinem religiösen philosophischen System vermischt ist
Manchmal ist das, was wir für wahr halten aus unseren übernatürlichen Bestrebungen, tatsächlich ein Zufall
Eine Reihe von Ereignissen, die dich von der Wahrheit ablenken
Aber ich gebe dir ein offensichtliches Zeichen
Eine der übernatürlichsten Taten ist, dass Gott durch sein Wort tatsächlich alles offenbart hat, was mit dem Leben in Gottseligkeit zu tun hat
Es gibt diese Idee, dass ein Individuum
Irgendwie spiritueller ist
Wenn er diese Zeichen und Symbole sieht
Und das, was normalerweise unsichtbar ist
Einfach macht
Aber ich sage, das Zeichen eines reifen Mannes
Ist derjenige, der Gottes Wort liest und versteht
Und es ihm erlaubt, seine Entscheidungen und seine zukünftigen Pläne zu leiten
Ich mag es, wenn der Wind sich dreht
Sie sagen, es ist die Bewegung des Geistes
Eine leise Stimme, hört ihr sie?
Erinnert ihr euch an die Zeit, als ich das Blatt fallen sah?
Ich war mir sicher, es war Gottes Ruf
Warte darauf, hör genau hin
Habt ihr es verpasst?

Elia sah die Wolken sich spalten
Und weiß, dass Gott es getan hat
Und es immer noch tut
Seine Gegenwart fühlt sich wie Schauer an
Richtig, und wenn ich ehrlich bin, passiert das nicht oft
Etwas muss falsch sein
Es ist langweilig, wenn mein Leben mehr wie das Buch Ruth als wie Exodus ist
Ich habe nie das Teilen
Eines Ozeans gesehen
Oder eine Wolke am Tag oder eine Säule in der Nacht
Nur ein normales, alltägliches Leben
Wo Dinge, die richtig beschissen sind
Ein Beweis für seine Königlichkeit sind
Kratze dir die Schläfe
So tief, dass es einfach ist
Dumm von uns, das Offensichtliche zu ignorieren
Wir bevorzugen ein Rätsel
Sterben, um ein Wunder zu sehen
Während wir Gottes Tagebuch halten
Auf der Suche nach Zeichen
