'n Schellenboer
'n Kotterboerken achter 'n heg
Afgelaegen wiet van de weg
Beeste en blagen in de modder
Geluk gong veur geld 't was der in odder
Twee teils op 'n wagen, daorveur een old peerd
Hee heuren der bi-j, maor lever ok neet
Old iezer, dat kwam em altied good van pas
't Stok em neet hoo verroested 't was
'n Schellenboer
'n Little boat behind a hedge
Parked far off the road
Animals and kids in the mud
Luck came before money, that’s how it was understood
Two parts on a wagon, for that an old horse
It didn’t look great, but to him it was worth it all
The kids from the village would shout: "Look at him!"
Sometimes they’d ride with him, but they had to keep it low-key
Bells and whistles, moldy streets
That’s the best for peacocks and poets
He came from here, but you know how it goes
He heard them nearby, but he didn’t care, no
At home, he always had the pot on the fire
Silage was too expensive, that was his desire
For the money, he couldn’t leave the factory job
He preferred to ride with his horse down the roads
Old iron, that always came in handy
The stick didn’t matter how rusty it was
He’d fix it up, even if it was a mess
Deaf to all that nonsense, he just did his best.
