Pescadores De Ensenada
Fishermen of Ensenada
Happy or sad, they leave Ensenada
The fishing boats head out to find
The precious catches they sometimes discover
While others meet their end in the sea
Goodbye to Sauzal, and also San Miguel
Our captain sadly bids farewell
Leaving his girl to go out fishing
She’s left crying by the shore of the sea
They prepare the nets, and also the harpoons
Searching for croaker or maybe shark
They fight the waves trying to haul in
Something to bring joy to their home
As evening falls, they head to the deck
Singing their sorrows, gazing at the sea
They don’t know if they’ll see their love again
Or if they’ll be caught in a storm
They fight like beasts against the downpours
Following the orders of the captain
Their lives are one, there’s no difference, they look like brothers out at sea
They long for Guaymas and Cabo San Lucas
La Paz, Manzanillo, and also Mazatlán
Port of Acapulco and Salina Cruz
I always remember the light from the lighthouse
