Bocanegra Brothers

Los Cadetes de Linares

Hermanos Bocanegra

Roberto quería quitarle a rubén

Bocanegra Brothers

Within the history, of the criminals,
I bring this ballad, that I come singing today

It's a tragedy, of flesh and blood brothers,
Who have left a poor mother crying

They were Roberto and Rubén Bocanegra
These two brothers, of whom I'm going to talk

That one day destiny and treacherous luck
Like two rivals, came to face them

Back in the north, I remember a little town,
They were arguing over some lands

Roberto wanted to take from Rubén
What rightfully belonged to him under the law

What a hard blow for the poor mother,
Who was present at that moment

She saw her sons die, with the same weapons
That their father had given them before his death

An old lady has been left very alone,
She is very sad, unable to find solace

Crying and praying, she spends the hours
For her beautiful sons, who are in heaven
