The Stories
Where are my little cars that I never saw again?
How could I lose them when I need them now?
If it was a slip-up, I admit I lacked vigilance
How I traded my essence for tickets to a show
I was both the victim and the thief in the heist of my childhood
But rest easy, my daughters, that story isn’t yours
Besides these walls, I keep an eye on the cracks
So that lizards don’t sneak in to steal your colors
These flying stories that, today, maybe you won’t understand
In time, they’ll wait for when you’re older
