Lemon Boy
There once was a bittersweet man and they called him lemon boy
He was growing in my garden and I pulled him out by his hair like a weed
And like weeds do he only came and grew back again
So, I figured this time I might as well let him be
Lemon boy and me started to get along together
I’d help him plant his seeds and we mowed the lawn in bad weather
It’s actually pretty easy being nice to a bitter boy like him
So, I got myself a citrus friend
But soon his bittersweet started to rub off on me
You’d think smelling like lemon zest would be pretty neat
I found out that my friends are more of the savoury type
And they weren’t too keen on compromising with a nice lemon pie
So lemon boy and me, we just gotta get along together
I’ll help him plant his seeds and we'll mow the lawn in bad weather

Il était une fois un homme amer et doux à la fois qu'on appelait garçon citron
Il poussait dans mon jardin et je l'ai tiré par les cheveux comme une mauvaise herbe
Et comme les mauvaises herbes, il est revenu encore et encore
Alors, j'ai décidé cette fois de le laisser tranquille
Garçon citron et moi, on a commencé à bien s'entendre
Je l’aidais à planter ses graines et on tondait la pelouse sous la pluie
C'est en fait assez facile d'être sympa avec un garçon amer comme lui
Alors, je me suis fait un pote agrume
Mais bientôt son amertume a commencé à m'affecter
On pourrait penser que sentir le zeste de citron serait plutôt cool
J'ai découvert que mes amis sont plutôt du genre salé
Et ils n'étaient pas vraiment partants pour un bon gâteau au citron
Alors garçon citron et moi, on doit juste s'entendre
