Devoram recém-nascidos.
Não haverá paraíso nem amores desfolhados;
The Dawn of New York
The dawn of New York has
Four columns of mud
And a hurricane of doves
That bursts the foul waters.
The dawn of New York groans
On the vast staircases
Searching among the edges
Undefined anguish.
The dawn arrives and no one in its mouth receives it
Because there, hope and morning are impossible.
And the coins, like swarms,
Devour newborns.
Those who rise first, in their bones they sense:
There will be no paradise or withered loves;
Only numbers, laws, and the mud
From so much wasted effort.
The noise of the streets buries the light in the city
And people stumble through the neighborhoods, sleepless
As if they had just come out
Of a blood-soaked shipwreck.
