The tree of knowledge has been cut down
Torn from the ground, made into defenses and paper money
His own roots man severs
Mother Earth dismembered
Distanced from her, he cannot hope to live by consumption alone
He built himself a void, man and the garden
Are both destroyed in his attempt to fill that void
