A História do Evangelho
É a história do Evangelho que nos fala de Jesus,
Que deixou do Pai a glória, para ser a nossa Luz;
Para dar-nos vida eterna, dura morte suportou,
Pela glória que antevia, ao Seu Pai se humilhou.
Não existe outra história que se iguale à do Senhor,
Alegria dá aos mansos e converte o pecador;
Essa história manifesta a Verdade e a Luz
Que restauram as ruínas e nos guiam a Jesus.
Com a lança transpassado foi o corpo do Senhor,
Sobre a cruz foi derramado o Seu sangue remidor;
E por esse sacrifício recebemos salvação,
O Evangelho nos declara: Só em Cristo há perdão.
Agradável é ouvir contar a história de Jesus;
Pecador, vem escutá-la para receber a Luz;
O castigo foi trocado por terna salvação,
Honra e glória ao Cordeiro, todos os fiéis darão.
The Story of the Gospel
It's the story of the Gospel that tells us about Jesus,
Who left the glory of the Father to be our Light;
To give us eternal life, He endured a harsh death,
For the glory He foresaw, He humbled Himself to His Father.
There is no other story that compares to the Lord's,
It brings joy to the meek and converts the sinner;
This story reveals the Truth and the Light
That restore the ruins and guide us to Jesus.
With a spear pierced was the body of the Lord,
His redeeming blood was shed on the cross;
And through this sacrifice we receive salvation,
The Gospel declares to us: Only in Christ there is forgiveness.
It is pleasant to hear the story of Jesus being told;
Sinner, come listen to receive the Light;
Punishment was exchanged for tender salvation,
Honor and glory to the Lamb, all the faithful will give.
