Palavra do Senhor que veio a Jeremias
Desce à casa do oleiro, que eu vou te falar
Jeremias obedeceu e caminhou pra lá
E o oleiro, sobre a roda pôs-se a observar
Mas o oleiro pega o barro, traça o barro, cata o barro
Limpa o barro, amassa o barro pra lá e pra cá
E Jeremias continua a observar
A intenção de Jeremias era ouvir Deus falar
O oleiro pega o barro, põe em sua roda
Alisando com carinho pôs-se a trabalhar
Terminado ele a peça, ainda ficou
E caiu de sua mão e no chão se quebrou
O oleiro vendo o barro, logo aproveitou
Outra peça mais bonita ele logo fez
Deus falou pra Jeremias: Porque é Fiel
Posso Eu assim fazer à casa de Israel
The Potter
The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah
"Go down to the potter's house, I have something to say to you."
Jeremiah obeyed and walked on over there
And the potter was at the wheel, watching with care.
But the potter takes the clay, shapes the clay, gathers the clay
Cleans the clay, kneads the clay, working it this way and that
And Jeremiah keeps on watching
His goal was to hear God speak, that was his plan.
The potter takes the clay, puts it on his wheel
Smoothing it with love, he starts to create
When he finished the piece, it still fell apart
And it dropped from his hands, shattered on the floor.
The potter saw the clay and quickly took action
He made another piece, even more beautiful than before
God spoke to Jeremiah: "Because you are faithful
I can do the same with the house of Israel."
