El Cuarteto de Nos

Mario Neta

¡Dale!
¡Mario Neta!
¡Son las siete!
¡Levantate!

(Se nos va la tanda
Y continuamos
Con el sonido bestial
Del cuarteto de nos)

¿Me habla a mí? ¿Este tipo me habla a mí?
¿Será que no entendí? ¿Será que me perdí? ¿Y?

Y yo sigo acelerando

¡Dale!
¡Mario Neta!
¡Son las siete!
¡Levantate!

I'm cruising down the road in my white truck
It's a bit old, but it still runs like a champ
I crank up the radio to a loud volume
Sometimes I’d rather not hear what I’m thinking

And some guy talking in complicated terms
Says we just want to keep busy
So we don’t see reality, and life as it is
And that we need to stop all this nonsense

Everything demands our participation
Brands, social media, or TV
Fake activities that bind and condemn us
To satisfy other people's desires

And the last one left
Turn off the light

La la, la, la, la, la
And I keep speeding up
La la, la, la, la, la
But I’m not in a rush

Working hard, making the cash
And buying what I’m not sure I need but want
And every morning I always ask myself
Why does the alarm clock want to scream at me?

Come on!
Mario Neta!
It’s seven o’clock!
Get up!

I brake
I accelerate
On the radio, there’s an ad asking me to borrow money from a bank
Well, maybe a loan wouldn’t be so bad
I was just heading to the mall to see what I can buy

I finish the ad and the guy keeps talking
Philosophizing about the evil that’s sinking us
We’re wanting smoke and they’re selling us smoke
And while we’re sleeping, they’re stealing our souls

Canned happiness for an unhappy world, just a facade
Everything gets consumed quickly and without a second thought
This society is like hair without frizz

If it’s new in March
It’s old in April

La la, la, la, la, la
And I keep speeding up
La la, la, la, la, la
But I’m not in a rush

Working hard, making the cash
And buying what I’m not sure I need but want
And every morning I always ask myself
Why does the alarm clock want to scream at me?

Come on!
Mario Neta!
It’s seven o’clock!
Get up!

(Our ad break is ending
And we continue
With the beastly sound
Of the quartet of us)

Is he talking to me? Is this guy talking to me?
Did I not understand? Did I get lost? And?
Why complicate things?
Why question myself?
If I’m happy this way

I know silence can be violent sometimes
But I’m doubting if it’s not necessary
To listen a bit more to what I think
And turn off the radio for a while

(Today)
(Productive goods production)
(Media Diógenes training)
(Planned obsolescence control)
(And we keep the show going)

La la, la, la, la, la
And I keep speeding up
La la, la, la, la, la
But I’m not in a rush

Working hard, making the cash
And buying what I’m not sure I need but want
And every morning I always ask myself
Why does the alarm clock want to scream at me?

Come on!
Mario Neta!
It’s seven o’clock!
Get up!
