My heart is crushed
It's lying there and growing cold
Summer's sunset falls
Sunlight flees away and dews of night arise
Rainy autumn moves my heart
Flowers welking welk my joy
Clouds come rolling over
they depress me, overrun me
They overshadow my heart
Autumn comes apace, a last warm glance sighing to me
Now grey vails between the earth and sea
Birdless branches in the wind
Leaves they found their death in coldness
Naked trees in the frost of night
yearning for the sun again and again
Waters laying still in transparent fog
Lakes of blue covered with ice
to sleep their winter-sleep

Mi corazón está destrozado
Yace allí y se enfría
El atardecer del verano cae
La luz del sol huye y los rocíos de la noche surgen
El otoño lluvioso conmueve mi corazón
Las flores marchitas marchitan mi alegría
Las nubes vienen rodando
Me deprimen, me invaden
Ocultan mi corazón
El otoño se acerca, un último cálido suspiro susurrándome
Ahora velos grises entre la tierra y el mar
Ramas sin pájaros en el viento
Las hojas encontraron su muerte en el frío
Árboles desnudos en la helada de la noche
anhelando el sol una y otra vez
Aguas quietas en la niebla transparente
Lagos azules cubiertos de hielo
para dormir su sueño invernal
