It's Been Years
you've come home. it's been two years. we never heard a word about it. now here you are under the overhang. those suitcases make you look crowded. the distance in your eyes is more apparent than we remembered. cigarettes, month-old dress, your lips- still, confused, and parted. and you say, "can i sit down?" but i can't hear you. the dogs are barking in the background. and you reach for the door knob. i don't try to stop you. i know you can't sit yourself too long.
Han pasado años
Has vuelto a casa. Han pasado dos años. Nunca oímos una palabra al respecto. Ahora aquí estás bajo el overhang. esas maletas te hacen ver multitudes. La distancia en tus ojos es más evidente de lo que recordábamos. Cigarrillos, vestido de un mes, tus labios... aún, confundidos y separados. y dices, «¿puedo sentarme?» Pero no te oigo, los perros están ladrando en el fondo, y tú alcanzas el pomo de la puerta, no trato de detenerte, sé que no puedes sentarte demasiado tiempo
