Let's Go, Let's Go Old Bay Horse

Edmundo Rivero

Vamos, Vamos Zaino Viejo

Y acariciando a mi perro chocolate
Tomaba alegre un trago del porrón

Tranco a tranco trenzo a pena
Recordando mi pasado
Pensando que fue tan buena
Y el destino tan malvado;
Vamos, vamos zaino viejo
Ya estamos los dos iguales
Nos hemos ido tan lejos
Con cincuenta carnavales;
Vamos, vamos zaino viejo
Es hora de descansar.

Recuerdos tristes se agolpan cada año
Pensando en ella que hoy cumplía sus años
Y me esperaba sonriente y buena moza
Porque así era mi linda maría rosa;
Hoy ya no tengo quien me prepare un mate
Ni quien me ayude a ensillar el percherón
Solo queda mi perro chocolate
Entre las ruinas del viejo corralón.

Tranco a tranco trenzo a pena
Recordando mi pasado
Pensando que fue tan buena
Y el destino tan malvado;
Vamos, vamos zaino viejo
Ya estamos los dos iguales
Nos hemos ido tan lejos
Con cincuenta carnavales;
Vamos, vamos zaino viejo
Es hora de descansar.
¡Es hora de descansar!.

Let's Go, Let's Go Old Bay Horse

Life is sad on the driver's seat
With the memories of a loving heart
I advance leagues at a trot with my cart
And it seems to me that I'm always in the mud
It's that I don't have anyone to prepare me a mate
Nor anyone to help me saddle the horse
And caressing my chocolate dog
I happily took a sip from the porrón

Trot by trot I weave with sorrow
Remembering my past
Thinking it was so good
And destiny so wicked;
Let's go, let's go old bay horse
We are both the same now
We have gone so far
With fifty carnivals;
Let's go, let's go old bay horse
It's time to rest.

Sad memories pile up every year
Thinking of her who today would have turned a year older
And she awaited me smiling and lovely
Because that's how my beautiful Maria Rosa was;
Today I no longer have anyone to prepare me a mate
Nor anyone to help me saddle the horse
Only my chocolate dog remains
Among the ruins of the old corral

Trot by trot I weave with sorrow
Remembering my past
Thinking it was so good
And destiny so wicked;
Let's go, let's go old bay horse
We are both the same now
We have gone so far
With fifty carnivals;
Let's go, let's go old bay horse
It's time to rest.
It's time to rest.
