The Hammer of the Whole Earth
Take up your positions around Babylon,
All you who draw the bow,
Shoot at her! Spare no arrows,
For she has sinned against the Lord.
Shout against her on every side!
She surrenders, her towers fall,
Her walls are torn down.
Since this is the vengeance of the Lord,
Take vengeance on her;
Do to her as she has done to others.
Cut off from Babylon the sower,
And the reaper with his sickle at harvest.
Because of the sword of the oppressor
Let everyone return to his own people,
Let everyone flee to his own land
The noise of battle is in the land,
The noise of great destruction!
How broken and shattered
Is the hammer of the whole earth!
How desolate is Babylon
Among the nations!
I set a trap for you, O Babylon,
And you were caught before you knew it;
You were found and captured
Because you opposed the Lord.
The Lord has opened his arsenal
And brought out the weapons of his wrath,
For the Sovereign Lord Almighty has work to do
In the land of the Babylonians.

Tomen sus posiciones alrededor de Babilonia,
Todos ustedes que empuñan el arco,
¡Disparen contra ella! No escatimen flechas,
Porque ha pecado contra el Señor.
¡Griten contra ella por todos lados!
Ella se rinde, caen sus torres,
Sus murallas son derribadas.
Ya que esta es la venganza del Señor,
Tomen venganza sobre ella;
Háganle lo mismo que ella ha hecho a otros.
Corten de Babilonia al sembrador,
Y al segador con su hoz en la cosecha.
Por causa de la espada del opresor
Que cada uno regrese a su propio pueblo,
Que cada uno huya a su propia tierra.
¡El ruido de la batalla está en la tierra,
El ruido de la gran destrucción!
¡Québrado y destrozado
Está el martillo de toda la tierra!
¡Qué desolada está Babilonia
Entre las naciones!
Tendí una trampa para ti, oh Babilonia,
Y fuiste atrapada antes de que lo supieras;
Fuiste encontrada y capturada
Porque te oponías al Señor.
El Señor ha abierto su arsenal
Y sacado las armas de su ira,
Porque el Señor Todopoderoso tiene trabajo que hacer
En la tierra de los babilonios.
