The Colors Only He Can Know

Fabián Vera

From the corner I can see
His red hands stains the ink again (uh-uh-uh)
He try to copy a song
But his voice keeps sinking down (uh-uh-uh)

He followed a light not his light
He swapped his frames for a short time
He threw his pencil to the page
Watched his pride break and fall loose

Every chord he plays is lead
Every line he draws feels useless
I will wait and I will stay
I will wait for him, one step away

The Sun comes up, the world leans in
He'll remember the colors only he can know
The music hurts, my brush just broke
I'll stay and watch them slowly go

He thought the clapping sounded like
The push he really needed (uh-uh-uh)
He stole the voice from other songs
But mirrors never lie to him (uh-uh-uh)

Oh he's quiet, won't go on
He draws streets he'll never walk
Honestly, you won't see something more
Than what's behind the painted wall

Every chord he plays is lead
Every line he draws feels useless
Colors fade to one only tear
'Cause' this song is never in its tone

The Sun comes up, the world leans in
He remember the colors only he can know
The music hurts, my brush just broke
I'll stay and watch them slowly go
