Querida Clara
Cuando esta carta llegue a ti, ya no existiré.
Y aunque mamá te explicará porqué no estoy,
debes de saber, que he vivido hasta el último instante de mi vida
con mucha honra y mucho orgullo, y siempre fiel a mi ideal.
No fui un cobarde, no robé a nadie, luché sin tregua hasta el final.
Y he muerto dando la cara al enemigo.
Si cien vidas tuviese, las cien daría por defender a la República.
No creo que el Fascismo consiga vencer.
Pero si la maldad de los falangistas pudiera más que la razón,
no ayudes nunca a mis asesinos,
no hay que tener consideración,
que hoy no la tienen hacia nosotros.
En algún momento podrás saber de todas las atrocidades que han cometido.
Solo te pido que cuides a mamá, a tus tíos y a tus abuelos.
Y mira bien por tu hermano, no os peleéis y trata de ayudarle, y que él te ayude siempre.

When this letter reaches you, I will no longer exist.
And although mom will explain to you why I am not here,
you must know that I have lived every moment of my life
with great honor and pride, always faithful to my ideals.
I was not a coward, I did not steal from anyone, I fought relentlessly until the end.
And I died facing the enemy.
If I had a hundred lives, I would give them all to defend the Republic.
I do not believe that Fascism will prevail.
But if the evil of the Falangists overpowers reason,
never help my murderers,
show no mercy,
for they show none towards us.
At some point, you may learn of all the atrocities they have committed.
I only ask that you take care of mom, your uncles, and your grandparents.
Look out for your brother, do not fight amongst yourselves, try to help him, and may he always help you.
