Uma vez num outro estado me pediram informação...
Pelo que é que no Rio Grande todo gaúcho é gritão?
Bem ali no pé da Letra já lhe dei a explicação...
São tradições do estado pra quem foi acostumado
A gritar com a criação.

O gaúcho da cidade tem um falar moderado;

Isto são cousas da vida prá quem se criou na lida,
Sempre gritando com o gado.

Obedecendo o patrão e pondo a tropa na estrada;
Quem quiser ver cousa feia é uma tropa estourada...
É alí que eu acredito que, a gente não dando uns gritos...

Dou definição do grito porque me criei tropeando;
Hoje de vida mudada vivo no disco gravando;
Mas, eu tenho a impressão que oiço o gado berrando...
