20 Years Circus
it was a day like any other my son he turned to me and said father wherever did we go so wrong i thought it over for a minute and said son for twelve years there was a circus sometimes i want to dream my life away and other times it all seems wrong still other days i want to throw my life away that's when i know i don't belong now when i'm down some people ask me just when and where my luck did change i smile and say the eighties broke my spirit 'cause when the circus came to town i was in it's way this charade is not for me just put aside what i think it means to me just put aside my eccentricities there's nothing for me in this one horse town at least until the circus came around
20 Años de Circo
Era un día como cualquier otro, mi hijo se volteó hacia mí y dijo 'padre, ¿en qué momento nos equivocamos tanto?' Lo pensé por un minuto y le dije 'hijo, durante doce años hubo un circo. A veces quiero soñar mi vida lejos y otras veces todo parece mal. En otros días quiero tirar mi vida por la borda, ahí es cuando sé que no pertenezco. Ahora, cuando estoy abatido, algunas personas me preguntan cuándo y dónde cambió mi suerte. Sonrío y digo 'los años ochenta quebraron mi espíritu' porque cuando el circo llegó a la ciudad, yo estaba en su camino. Esta farsa no es para mí, solo dejo de lado lo que creo que significa para mí, solo dejo de lado mis excentricidades. No hay nada para mí en este pueblo de un solo caballo, al menos hasta que el circo llegó por aquí
