Gabriel's Message
The angel Gabriel from heaven came,
His wings as drifted snow, his eyes as flame;
'All hail', said he, "thou lowly maiden Mary,
Most highly favour'd lady, Gloria!
'For known a blessed Mother thou shalt be,
All generations laud and honour thee,
Thy son shall be Emmanuel, by seers foretold,
Most highly favour'd lady, Gloria!
Then gentle Mary meekly bowed her head,
'To me be as it pleaseth God', she said,
'My soul shall laud and magnify His holy name,
Most highly favour'd lady, Gloria!
Of her, Emmanuel the Christ, was born,
In Bethlehem, all on a Christmas morn,
And everyone throughout the world will ever say:

El ángel Gabriel del cielo descendió,
Sus alas como nieve, sus ojos como llama;
'Todo salve', dijo él, 'humilde doncella María,
Muy favorecida dama, Gloria!
'Porque serás madre bendita conocida,
Todas las generaciones te alabarán y honrarán,
Tu hijo será Emmanuel, como predijeron los videntes,
Muy favorecida dama, Gloria!
Entonces la dulce María humildemente inclinó su cabeza,
'A mí que sea según la voluntad de Dios', dijo ella,
'Mi alma alabará y magnificará Su santo nombre,
Muy favorecida dama, Gloria!
De ella, Emmanuel el Cristo, nació,
En Belén, en una mañana de Navidad,
Y todos en el mundo dirán por siempre:
