Eu pensei que eu iria vencer
Eu tentei com minhas forças crescer
Não entendi e por isso eu errei
Mas mesmo assim ao Senhor eu não neguei
Paguei o preço provas e muitas aflições
Mas hoje eu tenho Deus no meu coração
Mas eu sei que vou vencer
Pois Deus me prometeu a vida eterna
Deus é a minha luz
É o caminho que ao céu conduz
Deus é a salvação
De um homem provado
A libertação
Hoje espero de Deus uma libertação
Pois falta pouco pra minha exaltação
E todos aqueles que a mim quiseram derrubar
Verão então minha bandeira eu levantar
Uma vitória Deus ele me entregará
Pois eu sou fraco mas o Senhor ele me ama
Mas eu sei que vou vencer
Pois Deus me prometeu a vida eterna
Deus é a minha luz

I thought I would overcome
I tried to grow with my strength
I didn't understand and that's why I failed
But still I did not deny the Lord
I paid the price, trials and many afflictions
But today I have God in my heart
But I know I will overcome
For God promised me eternal life
God is my light
He is the way that leads to heaven
God is salvation
Of a tested man
The liberation
Today I hope for a liberation from God
For my exaltation is near
And all those who wanted to bring me down
Will see my flag rise
God will deliver me a victory
For I am weak but the Lord loves me
But I know I will overcome
