onde a vida se passa docemente,
Trazes no peito ainda bem gravadas,
As pegadas do indígena valente!
O Rio Doce rolando eternamente,
A banhar tua plaga dadivosa,
Vai cantando, dizendo a toda gente
Do teu grande futuro cor de rosa,
Vencendo as selvas túrvidas, austeras,
Os novos bandeirantes, com fervor,
Sondando minas e abatendo feras,
Vão teu nome exalçando, Resplendor!
