Haudanhämärästä kuivaan pimeyteen
Öiseen vapinaan ja mustaan horrokseen
Vaivun tuntemusten tuomaan humalaan
Juovun kylmyyden ja syksyn tulemaan
vanhan kivisillan, tumman veden virtaavan
Puisen laiturin ja muistomerkin uhkaavan
Silmät suljettuina näen taakse päivien
Hetkiin joista löysin katseen tähtien
Merkuriuksen veri virtaa
Vuotaa yli maljani (ja)
Sinetöi sen sydämeeni
Huulilleni voitelee
Merkuriuksen rytmi tempa
Syke saattaa tajuni (ja)
Asettaa sen kämmenellesi
Hengityksen viettelee

Kivi allani saa ihmispainon taakakseen

The gray routine heralds the morning’s script
