There was a time when battles raged over such tiny blips
Such sinking ships
Such useless worry
That would define my time
Mine was a mind that couldn’t think for thinking
Stuck in thoughts till sinking
But now I’m thinking
Simplicity is fine
I wanted to be counted
I wanted to be heard
I wanted all to pay attention
To even my weakest words
And things I said in jest
I meant in truth
You cannot judge senseless defenses
Whispered in a sheltered youth
I used to have many things
Now I just have one
I used to work for money
But now I work for fun
I used to have a list of woes
That held no weight
I wasn’t ready to not be petty
I had given up to fate
If all the people I claim to care for
Have at one point or another
Inspired hate in me
And more (and more and more and more)
Was it them or was it me?
Or did it even matter who was wrong
