What does it mean to be a human being?
Act that the principals guiding your life
might become a law for the entire mankind
Now I will emerge from my
self imposed immaturity
This duty by myself shall strengthen my mind:
to keep in my self the dignity of mankind
Now I will have the courage to use
my own reason, to fight for my freedom
What can I know? What shall I do?
What may I - may I hope? What does it mean?
What's the meaning of our being
can we know what it means to
to be a human being?!

Actuar de acuerdo a los principios que guían tu vida
puede convertirse en una ley para toda la humanidad
Ahora emergeré de mi
inmadurez autoimpuesta
Este deber por mí mismo fortalecerá mi mente:
mantener en mí la dignidad de la humanidad
Ahora tendré el coraje de usar
mi propia razón, luchar por mi libertad
¿Qué puedo saber? ¿Qué debo hacer?
¿Qué puedo - puedo esperar? ¿Qué significa?
¿Cuál es el significado de nuestro ser?
¿Podemos saber lo que significa
ser un ser humano?!
