Als ik het vanaf het begin kon doen
Zou ik teruggaan en haar hart weer helen
Maar daarvoor is het nu te laat
Al mijn leugens sneden diep in haar

Dus ik denk dat dit is waar het eindigt
Ik heb vier wielen onder me, ingesteld op cruisecontrol
Een volle tank benzine, een goed nummer op de radio
Ik heb te veel tijd besteed aan gisteren
Wat achterblijft is toch verloren
Er is niets wat ik nu kan doen om het te veranderen
Het is te vroeg om te weten wat er voor me ligt, en te laat om terug te keren
De regen valt hard op de motorkap van mijn oude blauwe truck
Ik ga veel te snel nergens heen
De hoogtepunten vliegen voorbij, maar ik kan deze gemoedstoestand niet ontvluchten
Met haar herinnering die me achtervolgt
