Tristezas de saber que en otro tiempo
Las calles de tu barrio tan tranquilo
Gozaban de tu imagen tan querida
Y yo ignoraba que estabas en mí sino
Tristezas de saber que en otro tiempo
Alguien que no fui yo hizo un poema
Tan dedicado a ti, que lo guardaste
Como has guardado hoy el que te escribo
Pero ¿sabes?, esta tristeza mía
De pronto se me ha ido
La ahuyentó el duende que tiene tu sonrisa
Diciéndome que al fin estás conmigo
Tristezas de pensar en tantos años
En tantos sentimientos que has tenido
Emociones de amor y tantas penas
De las que yo no pude ser motivo
Tristezas que me causa el desencuentro
Tristezas por los años tan vacíos
De no haber descubierto junto a ti
Los lugares más míos
Pero ¿sabes?, esta tristeza mía
De pronto se me ha ido

Enjoyed your beloved image

Sadness of knowing that at another time
Someone who wasn't me wrote a poem
So dedicated to you, that you kept it
Just like you keep the one I write to you
But you know? This sadness of mine
Suddenly disappeared
It was chased away by the spirit that has your smile
Telling me that finally you are with me
Sadness of thinking about so many years
So many feelings you've had
Emotions of love and so much pain
Of which I couldn't be the cause
Sadness that the lack of encounter causes me
Sadness for the empty years
Of not having discovered with you
The most intimate places
But you know? This sadness of mine
Suddenly disappeared
