The Earth Is Crying

Jaxson Miller

We traded the altar
For a golden screen
The values we held
Are now just a dream
Chasing the shadows, forgetting the light
While the innocent suffer in the middle of the night
The pews are all empty, the steeples are cold
In a world where the soul is just something that's sold

Another border
Another line in the sand
The blood of the brothers
Staining the land

Can you hear the sound? The planet is crying!
Under the weight of the truth we're all denying!
The wars never end! The hunger just grows!
While the river of mercy, it no longer flows!
We're losing the way! We're falling apart!
Searching for God
In a hollowed-out heart!

The children are hungry, the water is grey
We turn our heads and we look the other way
Inverting the values, the wrong is now right
We're blinded by power, we're losing the sight
From the factory floor to the halls of the kings
We've forgotten the peace that the brotherhood brings!

The earth is screaming!
The sky is bleeding!
Is there anyone left who's still interceding?

Can you hear the sound? The planet is crying!
Under the weight of the truth we're all denying!
The wars never end! The hunger just grows!
While the river of mercy, it no longer flows!
Searching for God
In a hollowed-out heart!

How did we fail?
Lord, why did we fail?
Why did we fail?
