This Remembrance
Four years ago
we came to a place unknown
where no one was like you
and you were all alone
and first impressions were
the most important thing to you
but somehow you never found out
to be yourself is all you have to do
so put on that makeup
the kind that lets you hide
behind the truth the blush
and mascara will run just like you
then put on that face the one
that makes it look like you care
and wear it today and everyday
be prepared to let someone down
so simple it may seem to follow
what everyone's doing the hardest
is knowing who you are and that
you're close yet so far away (at the same time)
And when you look back and replay all the past
the friends that you once had were yours
one day but now all that's left are
the memories and secrets kept the goodbyes
