El caney de los retoños, me inspira para que cante
Meciendome en un chinchorro, bajo una Luna menguante
Con la vista de los morros, llega el viento refrescante
Mientras que bajan a chorro, del castrero aguas danzantes
Hace un marco el Pariapan, el paisaje impresionante
Que deja ver a San Juan, bajo la Luna brillante
Que engalana con afan, su poblacion estudiante
En los respiros termales, vienen aguas relajantes
Sudor de tus manantiales, tibios y reconfortantes
Donde se alivian los males los propiso y visitantes
Lindo San Juan de los Morros, agradecido y contento
Te traigo mi canto criollo, en alas del sentimiento
El caney de los retoños, con los suspiros del viento
Llega el olor del madroño, de mi Arauca soñoliento
San Juan este es mi homenaje, como un agradecimiento
En alas de este pasaje, pueblo del Guarico inmenso
En ti crece mi linaje y en ti fije mi aposento
