Yokogao No Taxi Driver
intaachenji o sugita atari wa
shingo-machi no kuruma ga fueru
waipaa sukashi te surechigai zama
yokogao dake de omae to wakatta
natsu ga kuru tabi jiipu karite
umibe tobashita mono sa
Taxi-driver
Taxi-driver mado o yokogiru sora wa
ima mo aoidarou ka
ore wa mukashi no kasetto nagashi
sugita tsukihi o kazoeta
nakama wa hotondo kekkon shitashi
najimi no mise mo ima wanai kedo
moetsuki tanara hai ni naru no ka
geemu mitai ni ikite ita yo
furimuku koto mo wasurete
Taxi-driver
Taxi-driver taiya, dorifuto sasete
ame no kaabu o isogu
ore wa kurakushon karuku narashi
bakkumiraa de miokuru
Taxi-driver
Taxi-driver mado o yokogiru sora wa
ima mo aoidarou ka
ore wa mukashi no kasetto nagashi
sugita tsukihi o kazoeta
The Sideways Face Taxi Driver
When I passed the interchange
The number of cars in Shingo-machi increased
We briefly passed each other, wiping off our whistles
Just with a sideways face, I understood it was you
Every time summer comes, I borrow a jeep
And fly off to the beach
Taxi driver, does the sky you pass by through the window
Still look blue even now?
I used to toss out cassettes from long ago
Counting the days that have passed
Most of my friends have gotten married
And the favorite stores of old friends are no longer around
The dreams that youth painted in my picture
Will they turn to ashes once they ignite?
I lived like it was a game
Forgetting even to look back
Taxi driver, let me drift as I drive
Hastening the closing of the rainy cab
I turn on the air conditioner lightly
Seeing you off with a back mirror
Taxi driver, does the sky you pass by through the window
Still look blue even now?
I used to toss out cassettes from long ago
Counting the days that have passed
