The Three Roosters
Coming from Jalisco, they arrived in Mazatlán
They were 3 runaway roosters who loved to roam
They were the men of the hour, didn’t like to wait
Everardo said, "Eliseo, I’m not feeling this"
I hear the cawing of vultures over by Centenario
Let Javier Barba know to get ready
Around 2 in the afternoon, they killed Everardo
Eliseo followed suit, they took him down brutally
There were soldiers wounded, they also hit Barba
Javier said, badly hurt, as he was nearly dying
The friends I valued didn’t show up for me
If Corita were here, another rooster would sing for us
Like that time, sailor, when 3 sharks fell
They dropped out of the water because of one of the traitors
Envy isn’t a good feeding ground for fattening chameleons
Goodbye Javier and Everardo, also Güero Salcido
I dedicate this ballad to them because they were 3 fine roosters
Who lived life their way, and damn, we lost them
