Todo comenzó en Europa con el loco Napoleón
Cuando llego la noticia se supo que España cayó
Iba creciendo el rumor por las calles se hablaba
Mientras el virrey lloraba un tipo nuevo comenzó
Y se reunieron en secreto aquellos hombres que querían algo mejor
Y le exigieron al virrey que en el cabildo el pueblo tome su decisión
Cabildo abierto lo cierto es que el pueblo luchó y votó
Desde temprano impaciente la gente esperaba
Y redoblante anunciaba al final la destitución
Y así formaron una junta de gobierno el virreinato se terminó
Y defendieron las ideas de Moreno de justicia y liberación
Y renaciente los pueblos de América la ilusión
Por un futuro mejor en las calles cantaban
