After Forty Years (Pasodoble)

La Chirigota del Yuyu

Después de Cuarenta Años (Pasodoble)

Después de cuarenta años
Maquillando a las comparsas
A mi vecino Gregorio

Y llamaron a Gregorio

Que dijo en cuanto lo vio
Si la familia me deja
A este lo maquillo yo
De la comparsa Entre Rejas

Pero el jefe se cansó
Y ha despedido a Gregorio
Y ya no trabaja allí
Ya no está en el mortuorio

Porque una noche al trabajo
Le llegó su propia suegra
Y le pusó en la corona
Aquí está La oveja negra

Don Gregorio ya en el paro
Ya no tengo muchas cosas que contar
Pero déjame decirte
Que aunque en Cádiz hay mucho paro
Que aunque en Cádiz hay mucho paro
Te aseguro yo que aquí
Hay arte hasta pa morirse

After Forty Years (Pasodoble)

After forty years
Making up the parades
My neighbor Gregorio
Got called for a job
To do makeup on the dead
Inside the funeral home

On his first day of work
Since he was used to
A different kind of job
He got a corpse so pale
He painted a little tear
And dressed him up in horror

Carnival can get to you
When another dead guy showed up
He got all deep in thought
Since they were gonna cremate him
He put on the makeup
That Fuego Vivo wore

He painted another one with grease and the family said when they saw it
What the hell is this, oh my God, and Gregorio said: Hold on
I made him look like Subiela when he came out on the Vapor

Julián Muñoz passed away
And arriving at the funeral home
They wanted a makeup artist
And they called Gregorio

Who said as soon as he saw him
If the family lets me
I’ll do his makeup
From the parade Entre Rejas

But the boss got fed up
And fired Gregorio
And he doesn’t work there anymore
He’s not at the mortuary

Because one night at work
His own mother-in-law showed up
And he put on the wreath
Here lies the black sheep

Don Gregorio now unemployed
I don’t have much more to say
But let me tell you
That even though there’s a lot of unemployment in Cádiz
That even though there’s a lot of unemployment in Cádiz
I assure you that here
There’s talent even for dying
