You're Getting Old

LOCURA POÉTICA

Te Haces Viejo

Cumplo inviernos como quien suma deuda
Ya no me venden promesas en saldo
He visto trucos detrás del telón

Me digo a mí mismo te haces viejo cabrón
He aprendido a cerrar ciertas puertas

Me digo a mí mismo te haces viejo cabrón
No voy vendiendo lecciones a nadie

Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

You're Getting Old

I count winters like someone adds up debt
They don't sell me promises on sale anymore
I've seen tricks behind the curtain
And I don't clap out of pure exhaustion

I used to chase after any noise
Now I let the train pass if it doesn't call me
I can tell the storm is in the air
Long before the calm breaks

Sometimes I look at myself and burst out laughing
I tell myself, you're getting old, you bastard
You don't buy into things anymore, you fight for nothing
You know damn well how the script ends
No one's voices chase me
And the background noise doesn't control me
I've learned to close certain doors
Owing nothing to the world

I move slowly, but I go straight
I'm not fooled by shiny promises
I prefer firmness in my chest
To the race that burns through life

I've lost battles that I don't care about anymore
I've gained hours that are worth their weight
I know when to be quiet, when to turn my face
When not to spend a single breath

Sometimes I look at myself and burst out laughing
I tell myself, you're getting old, you bastard
You don't buy into things anymore, you fight for nothing
You know damn well how the script ends
I'm not selling lessons to anyone
I've got enough to not trip up
I don't get into the same old messes
I know when to stop, I know when to throw it away

Not everything hurts like it used to
Not everything deserves a debate
Some things die if you don't name them
And others weigh heavy, even if you say they don't

Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh
