yo bailaba cerradito y ella bailaba pega´o

vamos a bailar suleto no quiero sampa´o

The Dancer

[and the party continues with Los 50 de Joselito]
[Joselito the dancer]

Once I was dancing with my girlfriend in El Callao
I was dancing close and she was dancing tight
I squeezed her waist and I was excited

When I noticed my mother-in-law had her eyes on me
I took my partner then and gave her a full turn
and I said to my girlfriend so my mother-in-law could hear me

Sweetie, don't squeeze so tight - see, I'm suffocating
Let's dance more open - because that's more refined

Right away I heard my mother-in-law commenting to people
oh, what a son-in-law I have, so polished and decent

And inside I laughed and thought excitedly
silly old woman, if she saw me when I dance close

But to please her - and go along with it
I winked at my girlfriend - kept dancing decently

And to complete the story and do everything right
dancing always dancing, I sang this little verse

Let's dance open, it's more refined
let's dance freely, I don't want to be stuck
if I dance close, my mother-in-law
looks at me, she's got her eye on me
