Loaded Cargo

Los Huracanes del Norte

Carga Ladeada

Venía rengueando la yegua
Traía la carga ladeada
Iba sorteando unos pinos
En la sierra de Chihuahua
Yo no sé pa' dónde irían
En verdad yo no sé nada

Ya debían varios delitos
Y los tenían exhortados
Les achacaban el robo
De un hospital en Durango
También de varios secuestros
Y el asalto de tres bancos

Se oyeron unas descargas
No pude llevar la cuenta
En la ribera del Concho
Cantaba un M-60
Cacareaba un R-15
Y distintas metralletas

Había llovido en la sierra
Se esperaba una creciente
Ahí murió Juan El Grande
Pero defendió a su gente
Hizo pasar a la yegua
Y también mató al teniente

El Rojo no estaba manco
En el río se echó un clavado
Lo llevaban esposado
Un sargento y dos soldados
Dijo que iba a beber agua
Y se les volvió pescado

Los que llevaban la yegua
Tenían valor y talento
Se escondieron en Camargo
Junto con su cargamento
Y los guachos en la sierra
Buscaban a Juan Sarmiento

Quisiera aclarar el rollo
Pero me está prohibido
Porque hay muchos allá arriba
Que se sienten ofendidos
Primero incuban el huevo
Después esconden el nido

Loaded Cargo

I was limping along with the mare
Carrying a heavy load
I was dodging some pines
In the Sierra of Chihuahua
I don’t know where they were headed
Honestly, I don’t know anything

They had several charges against them
And they were on the run
They accused them of stealing
From a hospital in Durango
Also of several kidnappings
And robbing three banks

Gunfire rang out
I couldn’t keep count
By the banks of the Concho
An M-60 was singing
An R-15 was clucking
And various machine guns

It had rained in the mountains
A flood was expected
That’s where Juan El Grande died
But he defended his people
He got the mare across
And also took out the lieutenant

El Rojo wasn’t slow
He dove into the river
They had him handcuffed
A sergeant and two soldiers
He said he was going to get a drink
And turned into a fish

Those who had the mare
Had guts and skill
They hid out in Camargo
Along with their cargo
And the cops in the mountains
Were looking for Juan Sarmiento

I’d like to clear things up
But I’m not allowed to
Because there are many up top
Who feel offended
First they hatch the egg
Then they hide the nest
