The Road to Juarez

Los Huracanes del Norte

La Carretera Hacia Juárez

Bonita estaba la Luna
Muy fuerte olía la hierba
Ya habían cortado cartucho
La gente ya estaba alerta
Porque ya iban a salir
Tres toneladas y media

Las cosas son en caliente
Y así en caliente se hicieron
José Luis tomó el volante
Armando agarró su cuerno
Una troca iba adelante
Abriéndoles el terreno

La carretera hacia Juárez
Si hablara que no diría
Que vio pasar dos compadres
Y una suburban seguían
Iban dispuestos a todo
Por llevar la mercancía

Pasaron por el retén
La suerte estaba a su lado
Lograron pasar la carga
El tiro ya estaba dado
Porque unos se habían dormido
Y otros estaban trabados

Lograron llegar a Juárez
Entre suspiro y suspiro
Y en una casa sin luz
Ahí se les quitó el frío
Empezaron a contar
Esto pa' ti y esto es mío

La carretera hacia Juárez
Si hablará que no diría
Cuanta raza no conoce
Que lleve esta mercancía
Unos que se arriesgan solos
Los otros con policías

The Road to Juarez

The moon was beautiful
The grass smelled strong
They had already loaded their guns
People were on high alert
Because they were about to go out
Three and a half tons

Things happen in the heat of the moment
And that's how they happened
Jose Luis took the wheel
Armando grabbed his gun
A truck was in front
Clearing the way for them

The road to Juarez
If it could talk, what wouldn't it say
It saw two buddies pass by
And a suburban following
They were ready for anything
To deliver the goods

They passed through the checkpoint
Luck was on their side
They managed to get the cargo through
The shot had already been fired
Because some had fallen asleep
And others were stuck

They made it to Juarez
Between breaths
And in a house without light
There they warmed up
They started to count
This is for you and this is mine

The road to Juarez
If it could talk, what wouldn't it say
How many people don't know
Who carry this merchandise
Some who risk it alone
Others with the cops
