The Lioness and The Rotten One

Los Huracanes del Norte

La Leona y El Carcomido

De mero Gómez Palacios
Nació una yegua famosa
De chiquita se miraba
Una estampa muy hermosa
Al crecer salió ligera
Que le apodaron la leona

Con ella cuidaban vacas
Pues era yegua de pobres
Al iniciar su aventura
Se hizo la reina de Gómez
Pues les ganó a 3 caballos
Que en Durango eran campeones

La sacaron del país
A jugar a Santa Anita
De allí voló hasta Kentucky
Aquella yegua bonita
Se le atrancó su carrera
Se lastimó mi felina

Después le sobraban retos
Muy seguro de ganarle
Su dueño no se rajaba
Nomás que mi yegua sane
Le avisan al carcomido
Que va a conocer su madre

Por fin se llegó la fecha
Nomás de aquello se hablaba
A favor del carcomido
Toda la gente apostaba
En Santa María del Oro
La carrera se jugaba

El carcomido bufaba
Con 10 triunfos sin perder
Pero esta vez no se le hizo
Llego a la meta después
La leona da la revancha
Si quieres otra vez perder

The Lioness and The Rotten One

From the town of Gomez Palacios
A famous mare was born
As a little one, she looked
A very beautiful sight
Growing up, she was fast
They nicknamed her the lioness

With her, they took care of cows
For she was a mare of the poor
Starting her adventure
She became the queen of Gomez
For she beat 3 horses
Who were champions in Durango

They took her out of the country
To play in Santa Anita
From there she flew to Kentucky
That beautiful mare
Her career got stuck
My feline got hurt

Then she had plenty of challenges
Very sure of beating them
Her owner didn't back down
Just wait for my mare to heal
They let the rotten one know
He's going to meet his match

Finally, the day arrived
Everyone was talking about it
In favor of the rotten one
Everyone was betting
In Santa Maria del Oro
The race was held

The rotten one snorted
With 10 wins without losing
But this time it didn't work out
He reached the finish line later
The lioness offers a rematch
If you want to lose again
