Acequia of Coronel

Acequia of Coronel

I'm like a fresh coyote, green sprout in the right time
Singing ripe verses for when carnival comes around
And your love is the passion in the branches of the carob trees

Party of drums and guitar, they left inside me a being
Joy that never fades, a flame of my desire
Oh, Santiago del Estero, I don’t know when I’ll see you again

Magical shadow of yesterday that watches over my heart
Brings back to my lips the whistle of a song

To the master of San Andrés, acequia of Coronel
My soul wanders your songs, paths of San Rafael

There’s my tender home, the one from my happy childhood
That’s where my dreams were born in my enchanted land

Poetry of my hometown that now flutters to my brow
They’re the water of my path, singing and shadow too

Nostalgia of my love renews our signal
Like the drum that guided the way to Seira Corral

And what happened to the carnival so sweet in my youth
The one that planted in my chest the seed of a longing

Path to San Rafael, bright under the moonlight
The winds bring me the scent of the Sun over the alfalfa

Poetry of my hometown that now flutters to my brow
They’re the water of my path, singing and shadow too
