From Allende he returned, at 21 full years,
He left pleasant memories, to the town and the rural folks,

Arnulfo was sitting, when a rural man passed by,
He said, 'Hey, what are you looking at? It's very natural'

The rural man, very angry, hit him in the face,
With his gun in hand, he threatened him with death,

Arnulfo stood up, getting his attention,
He said, 'Hey, don't leave yet, my response is missing'

They exchanged gunfire, facing each other,
Arnulfo, with his gun, shot the lieutenant three times,

The lieutenant badly wounded, almost dying,
He said, 'Hey, don't leave yet, finish killing me'

Arnulfo turned back, to shoot him in the forehead,
But as he turned, the lieutenant shot him there,

The lieutenant was a true man, he had proven himself,
But he found a tough opponent, one who wasn't backing down,

With this, I bid farewell, to the peaceful and rural folks,
Here ends the ballad, of the lieutenant and González
